We’re already halfway though 2019, but we still have two bigger trips on our agenda. Travelling to sunny places whilst it’s already fall in the Netherlands, has always been one of my (Nanouks) dreams, and this year, we’re planning on doing two of those trips!
October – Portugal
In February we traveled to Bali for three weeks, and we haven’t really been taking any long vacations ever since. So we knew October would be the perfect time to pack our suitcases and travel to a place where we could enjoy culture but also pick up our love for surfing (like we did in Bali). And the perfect city to do this, is Lisbon!
Lisbon is only a 2,5 hour flight from Amsterdam, so what’s not to love? This energetic city just called our names, and we’re super excited to got to Portugal for the first time. Portugal is famous for food, wine, surfing and a lovely sunny weather, even in October.
Our itinerary will look something like this:
Saturday Oct. 12 – Fly to Portugal really early (6 am), explore the city, go to a bar
Sunday Oct. 13 – Explore the city
Monday Oct. 14 – Explore the city
Tuesday Oct. 15 – Explore the city, travel to Costa de Caparica
Wednesday Oct. 16 – Surfing class, enjoy the beach
Thursday Oct. 17 – Surfing class, enjoy the beach
Friday Oct. 18 – Surfing class, back to Lisbon, have a nice dinner
Saturday Oct. 19 – Wake up early and fly back to Amsterdam
If you’ve ever been to Portugal and know hotspots where we should go or places we should eat, please let us know, so we can try it out!
November – Gambia
Say what? Gambia? It’s not the first destination that comes to mind when discussion your holiday. But this holiday is a special holiday, since we’re joining Michiel’s family o on a trip to the content of Africa! Michiel has been to South Africa before, but I’ve never been anywhere outside of Europe (except for Bali), and we’re both very excited about this very original destination.
What can you do in Gambia?
– Boat trip across the crocodile river
– Visit one of the many (fish) markets
– Visit one of the many beautiful beaches
– Go to Bilijo Monkey Park
– Visit the National Park
Have you visited Gambia? Let us know what activities we shouldn’t miss!
